About Epimenides

The company started in 2000. Our original focus was on platinum-price modelling.Since then we have branched out into other areas, while continuing our work with platinum and the other commodities:

Politics: We are targeting political campaigns in the upcoming, and in future, elections in the US, with the ability to present rapidly-read and -assimilated comprehensive summaries of editorial comment, day by day, on a particular political candidate or race.

What's In the Name...?

Commodities: We are in the process of building a probabilistic model of the commodity platinum, for sale to very large platinum buyers, mostly industrial, for use by them in decreasing their yearly expenditures for this metal. We are also producing a so-called "platinum dashboard" for platinum investors, which offers a moment-to-moment snapshot of the situation in the platinum market along very sophisticated and customizable lines.

Equities: We are working with a client on defining and producing text-based historical data for use as variables in probabilistic modelling of the prices of financial instruments.

Human Resources: We are constructing a site to be called Layoff Central, offering a real-time and historical succinct listing of all layoffs throughout the nation; the site is open for purchase by human-resources or journalistic firms.

Journalism: We are seeking to work with journalists who currently must spend significant portions of their work time reading through news. We can greatly reduce this burden by constructing customized real-time news readers and information extractors for their personal use.
